preparation nerves!

I got back home from a fabulous vacation in Cabo last night and the preparation has already begun.  I'm a bit nervous about how close I had to cut the visa and passport paperwork, but I'm working to stay positive on that note.  Last night my parents and I were talking about the kinds of thing I'll need to get before I go.  One of the big things for me is an entirely new wardrobe.  In Azerbaijan, women must keep their shoulders and back covered and their dresses or skirts must go down to mid calf.  Essentially, I'm due for a makeover apparently!!
I'm planning on hitting up some sweet consignment stores and finding some gems.  I'll do my best to keep my personal style while adapting to their culture.  Thank goodness I have some contacts that are currently serving in Azerbaijan or that have done other work there.  Hopefully they'll be able to guide me in the right direction of what to bring and what not to.  What Not to Wear: Azerbaijan.
Right now I'm just 150% thankful for all of the fabulous people in my life.  Everyone has been so supportive and accepting of this choice for me. While going away for 2 years is hard, it certainly doesn't mean that anything is over.  Plus! Coming to Azerbaijan (or any of the beautiful nearby countries: Turkey, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, etc) could be the vacation of a lifetime! :-)
